TriLateral Systems was originally conceived in 1994 under the consulting name CyberTechnic. From 1994 through 1997, CyberTechnic existed for the sole purpose of creating software titles with whimsical user interfaces, yet based on solid User Experience principles. At the same time, the graphic artwork coming out of CyberTechnic resulted in an innundation of graphic design contracts. Between 1998 and 2003, CyberTechnic evolved into TriLateral Systems, becoming a creative outlet for Christopher Thompson. During this five year period, TriLateral Systems existed in a hibernated state, as Mr. Thompson's work in the luxury and lifestyle verticals left little time for additional projects. After leaving I.A.R., Mr. Thompson revamped the underlying business model of the company, focusing more on research and development. This resulted in the Bioinformatics solutions the company is currently producing.
Chief Executive Officer - As a designer, whose magazine advertisements became famous for their clarity and purity, Mr. Thompson found himself spending most of his time in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Japan. As his work became more recognizable, writers espoused his eclectic sens of design in Japanese and French magazines. For five years, Mr. Thompson had been involved with an advertising firm with offices in the Southern United States and New York. Following the death of the firm's founder, Mr. Thompson came to realize that he was relatively unknown within the United States. Seeing this as an opportunity, he turned his attention once again to TriLateral Systems, deciding the time was ripe for companies to invest in research and development.
